Terms & Conditions For Submissions

Introduction

The Street Photographers Archive is dedicated to celebrating the art of street photography from around the world. We invite submissions from photographers at all stages of their careers, regardless of their visibility on platforms or in the art world. Our mission is to showcase both emerging talents and established artists. Please carefully review the following terms and conditions before submitting your work.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Eligibility: Submissions are open to street photographers globally. There are no restrictions based on location, experience, or previous exposure.
  2. Free Submissions: We encourage everyone to submit their work, and there is neither a submission fee nor a showcase fee when selected.
  3. Curatorial Decisions: While we appreciate every submission, we cannot showcase all of them. Our curatorial choices are based on artistic merit, relevance, and alignment with the archive’s vision.
  4. Final Decision: No individual feedback is available, and the selectors’ decision is considered final.

Privacy and Data Protection

  1. Personal Data: Your personal data will not be shared with third parties for unrelated activities. We respect your privacy and adhere to data protection regulations.
  2. Intellectual Property: The intellectual property of all submitted entries remains with the photographer. By submitting your work, you grant us a non-exclusive license for the purposes outlined below.

Featured Artists

Further Steps: If your work is chosen for inclusion, there will be additional steps such as:

  • Bios and Statements: We’ll request artist bios and statements to accompany the featured work.
  • Interviews: Some artists may be invited for interviews to delve deeper into their creative process and experiences.
  • Additional Images: Depending on context, we may ask for more images to create a comprehensive feature.
  • Approvals: We’ll seek your approval for using your pictures across our online platforms (website, Instagram, threads, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.). You can grant permissions very selectively. Your rights and preferences matter to us.
  • Newsletters and Questionnaires: As part of our collaborative community, you’ll receive internal newsletters and occasional questionnaires to help shape the archive’s development.

Copyright and Usage

  1. Ownership: The photographer retains full copyright ownership of their submitted images.
  2. License: By submitting your work, you grant the Street Photographers Archive a non-exclusive license to use the images for the purposes outlined above.
  3. Copyright Compliance: Images entered must not infringe any copyright or the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  4. Acceptance: Submission of any entry implies acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of Entry.

Legal Responsibility

  1. Photographer Liability: While the Street Photographers Archive provides its own legal assessment of street photography and its presentation, photographers remain liable for their images.
  2. GDPR/DSGVO Compliance: Legal issues related to GDPR/DSGVO initiated against the archive based on your images will be forwarded to the photographer, who assumes responsibility.
